Is that 35kg + Olympic bar, or 55kg + bar, in which case you're doing 75kg :4:

Also, does anyone know how much weight the bench press machines add on? I use one of those where the bar is on rails so you don't need to be spotted - I'm pretty sure it's not the normal 20kg - but it must add something on...?

eh what do you mean? Do you mean let's say you have a weight machine with a weight notch bar that goes up in sets of 10?

Most machines don't just "add" on the weight, they use the levels and pulleys to magnify the weight by a certain factor. That means you could be doing 10KG with your bench press and 20KG with leg press because the pulley system causes the work done to be doubled.

how tall are you? I'm 6'2" so 73kg is too light.

Do you mean the smith machines? Because there's different versions, ones where the bar sort of floats down (so the bar effectively weighs next to nothing), or ones where the bar is just on a rail (I think they typically weigh about 15kg?)

I think it's one of those Lifestyle Fitness ones. It does feel smooth on the way down, but on the way up it must surely offer something in the way of resistance. Deffo not 20kg, though. Either way, sounds like I need to man up a little.

Push up challenge it is!

I was curious to see if I still could do it, but yep I can still lift myself into a handstand (and hold it for as long as I want) from a crouched knees-and-hands on the floor position

i just tried to do those phoenix press ups, on my first one on the way down i completely underestimated how much i'd need to strain to stay on my arms and ended up falling flat on my face. definitely harder than i thought

I can do 4x 20 push-ups, not timed the duration between each as I've taken do doing a bunch of crunches (25 normal, 20 of the ones where you move your legs between straight up and parallel to the floor) between each set. Was thinking of upping it to 4x 25.

I'm quite skinny though (59kg) so probably not pushing that much weight.

Might join the gym tomorrow, been putting it off for a while after moving.

Im 5'9 and he is smaller than me. A lot slimmer too as he sweats it all off by being the first and last man in the dance. He is a soldier for sure.

Im about 180kg or 13 stone-ish, which is apparently overweight for my height. :-(
