How about this?Soiree wrote:OK, so in defense of my MDMA infused-awful memory.
Scuba played this DEEP TECH tune, there were really strange vocals of a man with a monotone voice all I can really remember from the lyrics was that he said "... THE SYSTEM ... THE SYSTEM"
Total shot in the dark, I know. The song was uber-tits though,
If anyone knows any DEEP-Tech tunes with poetry over the rhythm,
sharing is caring

That hoover in Mentasm, crazy shit.
Any of you guys seen a Sleeper Wakes show? Going to the (world)premiere of the new one in a few weeks. I heard most of Mills' output, but it's
so diverse.. I don't know what to expect. Seeing as it's the premiere, no one will really know but maybe someone has some pointers?
Kind of hope it's not too melodic/minimal

Re: the techno thread
I don't think anyone can know in advance what to expect with a jeff mills set - i heard he's notorious for confounding expectations when he plays lol. i'm assuming a lot of it would be close to the stuff on that album though (which is a good thing imo cause it's pretty quality but might not be your typical banging set)AxeD wrote:That hoover in Mentasm, crazy shit.

...and on the subject of classic R&S acid techno bangers:
Re: the techno thread
Yeah you're probably right.
Can't find any link (music wise) with the album Sleeper Wakes and those live shows though.
Saw some videos of previous SW editions with some banging 909 work throughout, definitely not the
spheric vibes of that album.
Guess I'll just wait and hear, he's a wizard after all.

Re: the techno thread
i'm sure it will be an experience whatever he plays lol. i watched/listened to a few jeff mills sets before online and they look pretty damn amazing (especially when he gets the 909 out).

He certainly is.AxeD wrote:...he's a wizard after all.
Re: the techno thread
anyone know where you can pre-order the forthcoming Silent Servant LP on Hospital Productions? Only 1000 pressed = get in quick.
Re: the techno thread
I'd say here: http://hospitalproductions.net/category/distribution/Shum wrote:anyone know where you can pre-order the forthcoming Silent Servant LP on Hospital Productions? Only 1000 pressed = get in quick.
It's also a record store in NY I think. Not sure whether it will actually pop up on the site.
Looks like Sandwell District 'stopping' as a label wasn't all that bad.
With new BMB and the upcoming albums from Function and this Silent Servant one.
Can't wait for the Function one myself.

Re: the techno thread
Update, I believe it's in at Boomkat Shum. Guess it's already out.
Don't think I'm getting it though, shipping costs and what not.

Re: the techno thread
Chris Liebing (CLR Records) @ The Revolution Recruits, Space - Ibiza (04.09.2012)

Chris Liebing is a Techno pioneer, dj, producer, CLR podcast host, radio host and the driving force behind CLR. He has been one of the first djs who fully embraced the digital age of music. Since then he has never stopped working on his dj and production setup’s and has finally reached a point of complete satisfaction with his technical and artistic possibilities.
After a whole decade of constant label work, Chris Liebing and his team are drawing a balance. Over the last 10 years, he and many renowned producers have released their music on CLR, turning it into a consistent and increasingly successful Techno imprint. The jubilee of this well-established label gave reason for a complete renovation of the brand, with a renewal of the corporate identity, new logo and the new web domain: www.clr.net
