2step is a specific kind of rhythm and beat, not just a tempo. If it's 4-to-the-floor like electro house it isn't 2step. Also: electro-house is usually around 128bpm, not 140Jazzical wrote:I guess electro-house/complextro can be called 2-step brostepLye Form wrote: Most Dubstep is halfstep?
I have never heard a 2step brostep track....but most dubstep/brostep turned into halfstep (considered "dub" tempo? but kinda nonsense) ...hm, actually it's not really halfstep, it's halftempo, to make any sense.. some messed up definitions, i'm confusing myself..

we are talking about brostep, and electro-house could be seen as a bro2step thenMaccaveli wrote:2step is a specific kind of rhythm and beat, not just a tempo. Re: Brostep - Part Deux!
i guess when you amend "-house" to "electro" it implies that its 4x4 electro, so not 2step
but yeah theres plenty electro that's more or less bro filth 2step
good 2step imo is syncopated tho, and most of the elctro is very straight beats (i.e. kick/snare/kick/snare) as though it were just 4x4 with the second and fourth kicks replaced with a snare

Re: Brostep - Part Deux!
reggae and dub is not the same thing ...taking a traditional reggae song and add a 2step beat doesn't turn it into dubstepToday wrote:i sort of think if you feel the need to add the suffix reggae- and call something "reggaestep" you might have missed the point somewhere along the line lol
Re: Brostep - Part Deux!
officially has no connection to dubstep whatsoever
and how the fuck would anyone see skrilly as the "next kurt cobain" because they "relate to him so much" ??
there's no fuking words to the music!!
cobain status came from edgy, self obsessed, dreary and frustrated lyrics, rock and roll resurgence and rebelliousness
this shit is about hyphy growl wobz, light shows and candy flipping
comparison to cobain is fucking stupid, whether or not you like either artist
Re: Brostep - Part Deux!
if you took a reggae song and turned it into an instrumental dancehall/system tune, it would be dub.Jazzical wrote:reggae and dub is not the same thing ...taking a traditional reggae song and add a 2step beat doesn't turn it into dubstepToday wrote:i sort of think if you feel the need to add the suffix reggae- and call something "reggaestep" you might have missed the point somewhere along the line lol
working that into 2step garage etc, is dubstep
so pretty much all our bases are covered, and the word "reggaestep" shouldn't exist.

hehe, yes, if you turn reggae into dub and THEN it can become dubstep... but skip the dub transformation, then it makes sense to call something reggaestep.. the video i called reggaestep (kinda jokingly, just to be safe if someone would say "it's not dub") was more reggae than dub..Today wrote:if you took a reggae song and turned it into an instrumental dancehall/system tune, it would be dub.Jazzical wrote:reggae and dub is not the same thing ...taking a traditional reggae song and add a 2step beat doesn't turn it into dubstepToday wrote:i sort of think if you feel the need to add the suffix reggae- and call something "reggaestep" you might have missed the point somewhere along the line lol

Only ever look on the vinyl releases, but yeah, when I venture into the download section, it's a bit of a nightmare.southstar wrote:Not sure if the big up is sarcastic but it was a real pain finding anything amongst the bro on that sitegarethom wrote:Big up Juno, recognising the difference in dubstep with their new sections.

this is another good dubstep dancing video. His parents have a very nice living room for dubstepping (not to mentiong that backyard shed as a backdrop for the 2nd dude) and the guitaring at the end is pretty epic to
