This whole age thing is confusing me.

but then it throws in

Without limiting the foregoing, each Potential Winner who is a minor in his or her state of residence will be required to have his or her parent or legal guardian affirm in writing such Potential Winner's acknowledgement and agreement to the Official Rules and Submission Agreement, in order to continue to participate in the Contest.

and

If any Winner is a minor in his or her state of residence, the Prize will be awarded on the Winner's behalf to the Winner's parent or legal guardian, who must execute any releases and other documentation required by Sponsor (including without limitation the Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability/Publicity Release and Remix Agreement described above). Prize may not be endorsed, transferred or substituted, except at the Sponsor’s and Big Beat’s sole discretion.

So I am really confused. I am 17 at the moment.

Those bits are negligible - pretty sure it's just generic contract blurb. Madeon won a Pendulum remix comp, people bitched massively because he was 16 and French and the rules stated similar stuff to your post - fact is if the label love the remix they don't give a fuck.

Further down are the skrillex remix competition rules. When you hit the link that says "important: more information" dont scroll up, it links you right to the skrillex competition part.

I can't tell you if it would matter or not.

Enter it, the US thing never seems to matter. I guess they may get picky about age if your like 12, but probably not

Just throw a sausage fattener on the master channel and if that doesn't work throw a bitcrusher on the master channel followed by a saturator turned up to +9.3db. Should do the trick.

Lmfao. Think I've read that before.

It's just pissing me off, because seperately i have everything sounding nice - like I can actually enjoy listening to the drums I've programmed on their own, but when I'm trying to mixdown everything's going to shit despite the fact I've been meticulous with EQ's and sidechaining. Granted my mixing isn't awesome but I've never had this much trouble getting a decent sounding track.
