Phonomancer - "Fuck It" [HEAVY Moombah/Dubstep]

Post by phonomancer » Sun Sep 16, 2012 2:35 pm

Hello DubstepForum! This is my first post, and today I'm sharing with you a brand new original track that I just released this morning. I have six other singles that you can listen to on my SoundCloud page.

Anyways, this new track is called "Fuck It". It's pretty heavy and fast-paced. I spiced up the intro with some moombah beats. I used FL Studio 10 Producer Edition, and Native Instruments Massive for the synths. All synths used in this song are custom-made by me from scratch. Tell me what you think!

liked the intro, thought the moombahton vibe went well, right melody vox shots etc was quite vibing ! :) but the drop completely takes away that vibe for me, im not a fan of modern talking osc either because it has such a distinctive sound, I was waiting for the moombahton to drop back in but it seems you only use it for intro/breakdown :(

I'm glad you at least liked it. I understand what you mean about the moombaton vibe not sustaining through the drop, but if you listen closely to the rhythm of the synths during the drop you can hear the moombah rhythm, just not in the percussion. I guess I could've brought it into the percussion with a different second drop, but I liked what I wrote for the first drop so much that I wanted to hear it twice in the song and just let it ride out the second time around.

The quality and mixing is not as good as it can be. Try to make more fat/punchy drums, use layering and eq. That sounds you made on massive is quite simple too, i would try to add more modulations, saturators etc on that or again make more than one layer on the bass. So definitely this work better than previous ones, but not enough, still a lot of work needed.

Yeah, I've still got a lot to learn in terms of mixing. I like the pure brutal simplicity of my Massives; that's one thing I take pride it. Perhaps it's not for everyone. Thanks for your input, though!
