Hircines right, the only difference is workflow. although personally if i had a mac i'd use fl studio combined with logic, benga-style

In an ideal situation that happens, i tend to forget stuff though, even techniques that are entirely my own

Make a template or save video tutorials. I know when I was writing lyrics I recorded myself badly singing so I could remember.

I hath decided to not talk about DAW's anymore from now on unless it's the one I'm using.

Yeah saving your sounds is essential. I save all my channel strips and creative eqs. I didnt know that benga used fl, i heard that skream used to but i thought benga just used logic. Im gona have to check this out. One thing i find that helps me before i start a song Is to write down ideas and draw out patterns or diagrams of how i want it to sound. It sounds silly but drawing out automation patterns by hand really works for me.

Agreed. The drum samples may not be up to par but seriously as a whole FL is right up there with every other daw.

Infact, FL is miles ahead of Logic workflow wise in my opinion. The speed at which you can get good swingy drum patterns because of the step sequencer etc.

There is more to logic than shiney instruments and vst's. Many forms of quantization and limiters, humanizing function, flex tool, MO sampler. But anyway you guys are missing the point: if you have been producing on fruity loops for 3 years and your music is shit then switch daw. Worked for me. Might not work for you, but you can always switch back.
I have never slandered fruity loops' audio quality or workflow, as every daw is different, different is not necisarily bad. Look forward to you guys quoting what i have said with naughty words following. Im sure that really helps this guy 'get his shit togeather' peace.

I disagree and agree in a way.
Yes it matters at finding what DAW works for you..
But if your music still sounds like shit it means that you haven't learned enough about production theory which means you should brush up on that instead of worrying about your tools.
Imo there are two essentials.
1. Knowledge of what you can do in a song, ducking, transitions, progressions, music theory etc etc etc.
2. Knowledge of how to use the tool and items that you have.
Really it comes down to how much practice time, effort and how much you want to learn about what you start with. Then once you've learned everything you possibly know if your workflow is bad on that DAW. THEN you switch.
