possibly trade zebra 2 for another synth

Post by Eat Bass » Sun Sep 30, 2012 1:06 am

i have zebra 2 but i dont ever find myself using it. i find myself constantly rewiring to reason to use its synths. zebra is sick dont get me wrong but it just doesnt click with me yet. i think i might need a different go to synth within logic so i dont have to rewire so much.

but im willing to take offers of other synth licenses and we can work out a trade if im diggin what you got.

I would recommend Tone2 Gladiator:

Fantastic synth, and sounds a little different from other synths.

I have a massive key I might be interested in trading.
Gonna have to look into Zebra 2 though.

keep the offers coming. i know zebra 2 is an insane synth when in the right hands. im just not as skilled as i would like to be so something more practical may be in store for me. thats the only reason why im considering massive...practicality. id prefer a not so cliche synth, but it just so happens those synths like zebra 2 are hidden gems and not meant for the lazy man.

though then again zebras drawable additive wavetable is pretty nice and intuitive for banging out certain tones that your looking for.

Are you sure you would to trade? Zebra looks to be an amazing synth, but I can't realy say because I only use 3x0c and freeware. Speaking of such, doesn't Logic have grand synth's of his one?

Start using zebra by initializing it each time. Zebra can be as simple and easy as u want it. I have so many patches that are just some minor variation of a one osc'ed saw wave. Sounds better than any other vst synth I use.

i dont want to because zebra is awesome and has a ton of capabilities... but i kind of do because i never use zebra and i want something ill use. and i love logics stock plugs but not theyre synths. dont like to use them at all.

i start this way everytime. thats almost what makes it not intuitive for me. being able to only show what u want to use makes it harder for me. if i was better at synthesis it would be awesome. but its not as easy if your just trying to have a fiddle, and its also not as easy to get inspired within, for me anyway. its an awesome synth but im just not on my synthesis game for it yet.

what do you mean extra? but if its a legit full copy then i think i will do it. i will wait possibly a day to see if anyone offers anything else but yeah...

also, what are the steps to transferring licenses with NI. does anyone know if its a slow process or not? i know zebra is easy to transfer and uhe is very fast at responding to emails and such. i cant say the same about NI.

i dont believe you can transfer over just a single license of komplete can you? also im not sure if you can do the same with maschine...

we'd need to figure this out before i commit.

this is a tough choice for me though. i love zebra but the fact is i just dont go to it often. i've used massive and i know i would call up massive so much when im looking to make a big patch in a pinch while im jamming etc..

I have both Zebra 2 and Massive, they're both nice but I seem to prefer Massive for dirty sounds(probably because it was my first purchased synth and it functions as a rock in my producing process). I prefer Zebra for leads, pads and what not, though it undoubtedly can produce filth as well. I don't really check out tutorials on youtube anymore so I'm not aware of any Zebra tutorials(in case you're not sure about trading), but this is a pretty nice one though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qq5D8CZIt-U

Also, since the filters on Massive aren't really that good, Zebrify + Massive can be a golden combination!

use zebralette for a while (which is mainly the oscillator section of zebra) then use zebra after and you'll notice how much easier it is to use, just my suggestion.
also the XY mapping area is so useful in zebra!
@ nightman the filter section is the only thing i like about massive, everything is keytracked automatically in a pretty good way, not many synths have that feature thats 1 of the reasons massive usually sounds so clean.
