What is the contest? Is it the tune battle where you can only use the samPle pack from some other thread?

Precisely.

The rules are only use the samples from the pack that will be provided. So that's no other samples, VSTs, waveform generators etc etc. Forces you to get creative with what you have.

how much can i alter a sample? can i even use simple things like a reverb or delay?

You can do with the samples whatever you want. But the samples must be the only source material.

Yeah I'm in but you can use FX vsts right? Or at least stock fx?

You can do whatever you want with the samples...effects vsts are permitted.
