LFO in Ableton!
I might have found a way to have a general purpose Lfo in ableton without using max for live.
Basically I'm using reaktor and the IAC drivers in mac.
Step 1) setup a track with traktor and add an lfo macro and route that to a "controller" midi out module.
Step 2) setup a midi track with reaktor as the input and send that midi to the IAC output (make sure the reaktor instance is vst otherwise you're midi track will not recognize reaktor's midi signals.
step 3)go to midi mapping (everything highlighted blue) click on the parameter you wish to map and then hit the space bar to run the midi clock.
Assuming you set everything up properly this should map a CC to that parameter. Then any setting you apply to the lfo in reaktor should control that parameter. (if its a macro in ableton than you can control infinite controls with that reaktor lfo.
This works in practice for me although I haven't had time to see how efficient or cpu-intensive it is. Wondering if I could get some feedback about this method. I have never seen a post about an lfo for ableton thats not m4l so I would like to get some responses!

Have a look at MidiShaper for LFOs: http://www.cableguys.de/midi-shaper.html
Can be MIDI-mapped to parameter in Ableton Live.

Re: LFO in Ableton!
jakob, can you help?
i got the demo and im using ableton, i watched the video "how to route in ableton" and when he clicks on the cutoff on that filter, a menu pops up that says learn, unlearn etc...
when i right click in ableton on any plugin i dont get that menu to learn what midi CC.
so how do i get that menu to pop up? it seems like the only way to get midishaped to control anything and i want to try this out already!

Re: LFO in Ableton!
Kind of a similar solution but I just discovered LFO studio for Lemur... pretty amazing, I'm working on my own version of it where LFO's (read:any automation) can be recorded from X/Y pads and played back, and since its all midi it's DAW independent
