i know this is going to sound like a really stupid question but i don't really know anything about consoles so need to ask really.

how much better (if at all) is the PS3 than the 360? almost all of my friends have xbox's but PS3 is pretty much the same price and better from my understanding. just any advice would be helpful for a proper gaming novice

Depends on the games you want to play really. Often, exclusives are really good.
Haven't touched my 360 in a year, but it still works and I bought it in 05 if I remember correctly.

There's not a lot in it really. PS3 is more powerful on paper but most games are developed for multiple platforms so you rarely see that advantage except for the occasional multi-disk game on 360 which is on one Blu Ray for PS3.
If I were you I'd go for the console who's controller you prefer, and which exclusive games you love (if any). I really don't like the Xbox pad, and I love Metal Gear Solid, so I went for PS3.
TBH though I'd go for PS3 because everybody I know who's had or has a 360 has replaced it at least once because it's self-destructed. PS3 is much more reliable. Microsoft are still new in the hardware game.

Coming from someone who owns both, I'd recommend the ps3 over the 360. It all comes down to personal preference though really. I've owned both for a few years now and never had any mechanical trouble with either of them. I know people who have had problems with both but I think as long as you look after it you shouldn't have any problems.

So why do I recommend the ps3? Few things. Firstly the controller, most people prefer the xbox controller but I really can't get on with it, it seems clunky and too big. Secondly would be the exclusives, mainly GT5 although this would come down to personal preference as both have their fair share of exclusives. Thirdly is free online play, self explanatory. Finally user interface, there's something about the xbox layout that doesn't look right. Maybe it's just because I had the ps3 first. Also the ps3 looks better graphically IMO.

this looks absolutely fucking amazing. also assasins creed is incredible, go home.

this reminds me of deus ex human revolution, i am definitely now looking into this game. thank you for this

the demo was very meh
it's pretty dumbed down compared to the original xcom games
no more randomized maps is one of the more irritating bits
it's fun, but doesn't feel like xcom as much as xenonauts does

Managed to finish Torch Light 2 over the weekend. First game in bloody ages Ive managed to get to the "end" with.
Did NG+ and ran some random dungeons but Im not sure I can be arsed to play anymore.

Might go get my ps3 back from my family and get Tokyo Jungle, seen alot of people saying its a good game.
