Amen, just utter turd.

Even though I know people genuinely like them, I can't help but shake this feeling that they only say they like it because they saw it in their dad's record collection and heard it was like, the sickest album.
nah my dad has much better records in his collection, I only really like Syd Barrett era Floyd, the 'classic' albums like DSOTM don't really do anything for me

Mine has the token Dark Side Of The Moon but seems to have more of a Deep Purple/Tangerine Dream vibe going on. And a lot of Emerson, Lake & Palmer.

big up, my dad had Meat Loaf - Like A Bat Out Of Hell and Black Box - Ride On Time. I've done well to recover from these tastes.

Not a fan, even without that bollocks about only playing on a £5000 rug or whatever.

with regards to the video you posted, jim: its mostly the vocals, they just make me cringe. i'm not really a fan of the music either, but i could still listen to it without the vocals.

yeah this is kinda how i feel. most people i know who jerk off on floyd are on that boat.

i can't say that they don't write good songs or albums, because for what they are, they do. but it just doesn't appeal to me on the large scale. the whole pink floyd listening experience is just boring to me, and it seems that the people who really jerk off to them a) were there in the day or b) are average, normal day boring people

tbh i find the attitude you yourself are displaying to be a bit daft as well, some people do actually like old stuff just because it's good (or at least in their opinion)

My favourite band Cardiacs formed in 1977 and I don't like them because I think music in general was better back then, or even because my dad is a fan of them (he actually got into them after I did), I like them because they're fucking magnificent and nobody else sounds like them... sometimes good shit is just good shit

Theres no problem with liking old music, its just lame, and tbh annoying, when people limit themselves to an era (especially when they weren't even there) :cornlol:
