was there any cause to the violence? does it seems like its a lot more than usual?
160 dead last month and 10 in the first week of the month are really unusual numbers for São Paulo. Shit only hit the fan this hard a few years ago and it didn't last as long.
but did anything spark it that you know of?

it's not like they are targeting the population, but a guy died a few days ago because he was helping a police officer that was shot. Plus, you never know when they are going to act, it's all rumours and rumours. Sucks to be in the middle and lower classes right now.

a few months ago someone ratted out a reunion where they were deciding what to do with a rapist. Police sneaked on them and shot 11 dead. 8 were arrested during the whole operation. I think that this plus the fact they have been arresting some big shots lately may have triggered this. I don't expect things to go down as hard as they did in Rio two years ago, but I expect a lot more blood in the coming months.

@ehbes
my sister just got back from miami, said that it's a beautiful place to be and it feels a lot like latin america, just a bit colder. I also got family in Detroit, not a place that I'd like to bethough :lol: Just got my passport, now trying to get a visa. Gonna put my tourist swag on around 2013 :4:
