140 bpm is such an amazing tempo
140 bpm is such an amazing tempo
I'm so happy I discovered a shit ton of non skrillex dubstep on this forum since I started hanging here a week ago and I'm really looking forward to do a few new 140 bpm tunes..
I always liked better slower breakbeats than dnb breakbeats even if used to listen to a lot of dnb and produce quite some of it as well..
I think I've quit with dnb producing for a while now... Have some crazy ideas for the 140 bpm treatment but waiting my studio upgrade to start working on them..
I really fell out of love with dnb in 2012.. Recently was at a Doctor P gig and the dubstep was KILLING it, yep my first dubstep gig. My recent tune I did which is 170 bpm half beat got played by Mista at the gig and I was too drunk so went out of the club to pass out in the car (and I vomited too lol) just when he started playing. Feelin really bad that I didn't see the crowd's reaction to it lol.. Alcohol = Shit.....
Having said all this non sense you don't want to hear.. I go to the point of this thread : Is a 170 bpm beat sliced in half, drumstep, dubstep or dnb / depends ? You say depends on the tune. Months ago I put a 170 bpm sliced in half tune on juno for a short time and you can see the tempo on juno releases, it said 140 (can't exactly remember) or so bpm, but not 85bpm or 170bpm. Then some heads on a dnb forum also insisted this tune I posted there is dubstep. Simple : instead of using the fast 170 bpm dnb breakbeat, you can make a dnb tune at that tempo and just use 85bpm drums instead of 170 bpm aka sliced in half. Wait I don't even understand it myself anymore lol anyway is dubstep strictly 140 bpm?
I know most of you don't care about this but I was wondering what's up with these half step dnb choons breakbeat at 170 bpm...
OP is over here. I bet this will get deleted anyway.

Ah, it's cool that a thread as popped up about bpm. It's a bit off topic but i'm pretty sure you can answer this.
When I produce, my tracks feel slow, more 70 than 140.
Here is an example : http://soundcloud.com/faarefaced/raw-1/s-PBlgB
How do make a track feel more fast paced but still keeping the snare on the 3 ? Is it just about hi hats or is there anything i'm missing ?

Re: 140 bpm is such an amazing tempo
whenever i mention darkstep to people they think it's some sub genre of dubstep.. hard to convince them that it was actually around first, and is actually dnb.
Re: 140 bpm is such an amazing tempo
I love 140, but 70-130 bpm hip hop just sends me to another dimension.
I found a way to get piece of mind for years and left the hell alone, turn a deaf ear to the cellular phone
