More zombies, including in the woods, more weapons with everything else being more rare, heat actually makes a difference, nowhere near as large as chenarus so less hoarding (not to mention it's pretty hard to hide shit on the map).

more zombies is nice (and zombies in the woods sounds awesome)
but right, is the smaller size of it good then?

My main gripe with chernarus these days is just how absurdly rare vehicles are. Like, its partly my fault. I downright refuse to look up anything about dayz. I love the being lost aspect of the game, and find that the more I know the less I enjoy it. So yeah, ive got no idea where any vehicles spawn (apart from the ATV on the mountain between cherno and elektro - and even that ive only ever found once when a mate first took me there) but yeah, ive probably played around 200 hours or something of dayz, and other than the ATV ive found with a mate, ive found one bicycle. Thats it. And thats with literally days of just running around the vaguely north side of the map looking for them.

So yeah, if theres zombies in the woods and a better chance of finding a vehicle, im in!

Also, i guess they run on a different HIVE or whatever so you can have a character on both quite easily?

Then, last question, do you need to download the map? If so where from etc? Cheers guys!

ooh sorry but go fudge yourselves for a bit hehe :D just found my first car! Been soooo long coming lol

Amazingly lucky too. Didnt have a map and was a bit lost but just started running in what I thought was roughly the right direction for stary. Anyway, i eventually see the electricity pylons and I was right by stary. Booyah. I hide in the trees up the hill and scope the place out for a few mins with my L8A52 with one of those infa red AWS scope thingys. As I was doing this I heard a low rumble. Looked round to the right to see a car drive about 50 yds in front of me. Didnt really know what to do, but the guy made my decision for me! He parks up in some trees and gets out...and I insert a good pound of lead in his head. Run down, nick his M49, hop in the car and got the fuck out of there. Was nearly out of petrol so i got it to some nearby woods then made some runs to and from novy and got 3 jerry cans i think. Also found a tyre (all 4 were red) and yeah got the hell out of there. Since found another 2 tyres and got about half a tank of petrol. Its now hidden in the middle of bumfuck nowhere and hope to have it with me again tomorrow :D

Also, found a motorbike while I was out cruising for parts! So much easier to find vehicles with a vehicle lol

Anyway yeah, when I next die ill probably come join on a namalsk hive!

Wiggle, the easiest way to get Namalsk is to get DayZ Commander (www.dayzcommander.com)
Run it, then go 'settings' and make sure your game directories are correct.
Click install/update and then under 'additional mods' install Namalsk island.

You can also update your beta patch and Chernarus DayZ files from here but I prefer to do that manually.
If you happen to use Steam, this is a handy desktop shortcut format for different mods/maps/etc:
"C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 33930 -nosplash -cpuCount=2 -nopause -mod=@-DayZ-1726;@Namalsk;@-DayZ-Namalsk

Ok we're hooked on the Wasteland mission now.
It's like DayZ minus the zombies, more vehicles, 3 player factions, and you can build your own bases.

Mission just means you don't have to download any files like DayZ
It doesn't have a time limit and it's open world deathmatch, but has 3 factions or teams.
