As im easily 1 of the most gifted vocalists to ever grace the earth ive recently been fucking about recording my own vocs. As i was lying out my arse in the first sentence ive been trying to change the sound of my voice from male to female. if you get me.
The best ive managed to do so far is change to complex pro (im using ableton) and transpose up x8, but it doesnt sound overly natural, and if i change the mode to just complex and x8 it sounds chipmonky. Now i cant change anything other than x8 as it goes out of key.
Does anyone have a plugin they can suggest because the world needs to hear this

Seriously, its not really possible, women have different shaped throats and vocal chords, you'd have to be a god with an Eq and use a multiband moving one like 112dB's redline EQ, then try and EQ the chipmunky ness out of your voice and add a layer of unaltered male voice and EQ out your manliness lol.
I know I couldn't.

going on ableton's complex pro engine is fine. it can't sound overly natural just because it isn't natural..but i think it's the best u can get. just add some subtle effects like a filter, a little bit of reverb and ur on ur way i guess.
for me it's a lot of fun to experiment and fuck around with vocals in ableton,
just try different things
have fun,
Tordal.

what does gemini do?
i heard that all his vocals are done by himself, yet they sound like a female.

They sound like a guy that's high pitched and has auto-tuned/re-pitched/vocoded his vocals... nothing like a girl.

I remember hearing that Amon Tobin changed his voice to female for some of the tracks on ISAM - but he used some crazy Kyma spectral processing that is out of all of our budgets

MMultiband Harmonizer is able to shift formants, amongst other things.
There's a stripped down magware version called Mharmonizer CM you can get with any copy of Computer music magazine, which will net you about £7. worth messing about with. See if you can get what you intend out of it.
edit: I've got it actually, if you want I can upload it and send you the link, inbox me if you're interested.
