Most of the time I'll click them, but sometimes I'm lazy so I just run recordings through newtone and have it write all the midi

how did this come up? do you have a midi guitar? or is it just audio-->midi software? That would be right useful cause I've got a lot of clips floating around where I don't really know what I'm even playing

I can't produce without my midi keyboard, idk it just doesnt feel very natural clicking notes in..

Standard guitar. NewTone comes with FL if I'm not mistaken (Bought a bundle, may be from there). One of the features of newtone is that you can put a clip in it, and select a channel you want it to translate midi of the clip to. Not at all perfect midi if not a perfect recording, but you get the notes atleast.

And huty, alot of the time I'll mess around on my keyboard writing melodies aswell. Planning on buying a midi controller, but before that a proper mic. Just have to get some money...

Load up a wav into edison and theres an option called dump score to piano roll, it converts the audio into a midi file. Hum a melody through a mic and try it.

the workstation is the way it is, the band gear is all piled up and tidy because I cleaned it.
