flee from the CCTV and the country that arrests someone for burning a poppy.

And run to the country where white supremacists set off bombs in the capital and shoot a whole load of innocent teenagers at a Christian camp. Yeah, sounds real cool to me.......
Phrex, Fuck Off with your anti British sentiments at moment. Seriously.
lol
this forum gets way too emotional when political topics are touched.

i'd like to point out how, amazingly, i dont think i heard a single norwegian calling for breivik to be "beat up and taught some respect"

Norwegians were too busy listening to Savant and burning down churches to teach respect

This forum reads like the comments section of a Daily Mail article at times

Show me a forum that doesn't.
Problem with discussing politics, everybody wants to say something, but nobody wants to listen. It's a shame, people hold politics in high regards (and they should), but nobody wants to change their mind. Pride, ya dig?

Nah he's a producer. Literally a musical savant, the dude's crazy. Genre mixes like a motherfucker, but without doubt one of the best producers i've heard.

just to put things in perspective, at least the UK has support for those who are struggling to make ends meet -- it may not be the best system in the world but do be grateful that resources like the NHS exist while people with the same ailments in the states are paying astronomical amounts just to see a doctor.
& i know tripling tuition fees was a major blow to young people across the country, but you are still paying 9k a year over 3 years as opposed to the $30k+ tuition fees per year you see at american universities over 4 years. consider also the fact that your student loan system is relatively forgiving, making sure that you are earning over a certain amount before hounding you to pay it in full--interest rates/payment plans for those same loans in the US is downright criminal.
i for one am more than happy to submit to higher taxes and CCTV if it means a more humanist approach to capitalist society.

Tbh both those things he said were true, we do have a frankly ludicrous amount of surveillance cameras watching us and recently a guy got arrested just for posting an image of a burning poppy on facebook, not even actually burning a poppy, just circulating an image of a burning poppy... Besides which, disliking the action of a nation's government is not the same as disliking the nation or the people of that nation
Really though if he was so anti-british why would he fly over here frequently to go to various dances?

This I agree with, however it shouldn't have to neccesarily be a trade-off, why can't we have 'a more humanist approach to capitalist society' without the riduclous amounts of surveilance?

Discussing politics is the worst. I avoid it as much as I can outside of uni. Just pointless discussions that go on and on and on until you realise you're just repeating yourself and noone's gonna change their mind so you drop it and move on to gossip or whatever.

Ok, I didn't know that, I certainly don't approve but I still don't think it should have been an arrestable offence though

By law, yes - Malicious Communications Act 1988, section 1, "deals with the sending to another of any article which is indecent or grossly offensive, or which conveys a threat, or which is false, provided there is an intent to cause distress or anxiety to the recipient".
I'm not saying I agree with the law but I do personally find it 'grossly offensive'.
