There are tools to extract the files out of the game roms/data files, including the sound ones..Just get the rom or the data files of the games you want and try google or a game emulator or game mod community to find the tool you need.

Play the game. Run a cable out of the headphone output of your TV into a mic input/line-in on your PC or Mac, or an audio interface. Set-up a recording software program to record from this input and hit record. Viola, any sound from the game will be recorded onto your PC or Mac
If you are new to production, Audacity is a simple, free software, useful for recording, or just use your DAW such a FL, Cubase, Logic etc.
A 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable is recommended for such recording, you can probably find one on eBay for 99p. I have one, and I regrettably use it all the time.

well for one I don't want to buy the game. I guess I could just get the ROM and use sound flower to record the audio. However if it were that simple id do that. The problem is the vocals and effects and music are all inter-weaved. There is a way to get the independent files though. Perhaps an online database. Anyone know any?>

For arcade ROMs you just use this http://rapidshare.com/files/54662246/FoxM1.rar
It will list all sounds in the rom and you can play or save them to wav.
Other platforms will have different tools.

Definitely gonna check this out. Some games are always cluttered with music and ambience and it has stopped me sampling them. I hope this works for ps1 roms.bananas wrote:For arcade ROMs you just use this http://rapidshare.com/files/54662246/FoxM1.rar

As usual there is nothing for Mac. You can use a virtual machine to emulate the PC and run the app on Mac.neonmansion wrote:anything for mac?

learn to use google and refine your searches to get the best results. this board in particular has been getting cluttered and going to shit as of late. or sample shit yourself like everyone else has already said. stop expecting others to do homework for you that you could easily do yourself, ffs.
