Happiness/contentedness is a choice. Make peace with yourself or you'll find it impossible to do it with those around you because you're not comfortable in your own skin. In the meantime, perhaps it would be an idea to avoid conversations about things you don't care about with people who care about them a lot? You're unlikely to get far convincing dfd to be apathetic just because you are.
