i ran an all ages monthly at a teen center for awhile

one time a bunch of people showed up we didn't know (which should be good) and i got girls walking on stage requesting shit...not cool already

and when i said i didn't have any gaga or r&b they sent their boyfriends up who started touching my shit/trying to look through my tunes on the laptop to see if i had anything "good"

UGHHHH

so, it has happened...

i was playing out and if i remember rightly, the tune on the deck was a kryptic minds one (from the one of us EP), and lo and behold, a girl from the audience made her way over to me and asked me "when are you going to play some dubstep" to which i laughed slightly, somewhat through total disbelief, and replied that "this is dubstep", to which she said - "its a bit urban isnt it"...

Worst gig was my only gig, which wound up not happening. Girl in my class organized house party and I suggested I could DJ, which she delightfully accepted. So day of I call her up and start asking about her setup, in order to find out what cables I need to bring and stuff. Turns out, she has only a vague, vague idea of what DJing means, so I bought shit ton of commercial Electro Zedd stuff for nothing. Par.

headlining at a venue that was normally a gay nightclub, surprisingly the system was mint and the actual place was nice, a downstairs room with low ceilings and a really nice underground vibe to the place, started my set off well dropping tunes and my mixing was on point. then suddenly my cd skips and bang stops working, try the rest of them and only a couple work with no problems. I had to use a load of tunes the club dj had there which lead me to playing the literally gayest collection of music i have ever played.

it was suppose to be a 4 day festival, but got shut down after like 6 hours, because of incompetence of the promoters and them getting wrong permits. dipshits

....and skream didnt play because he had food poisoning
I was at this one. We drove from St. Louis. Major bummer.

Worst I've had it was DJing with the flu, I caught it the day of and I needed the extra cash so I just went for it. Blowing your nose while standing on a stage is pretty awkward.

lol two nights ago a kid asked me to dj his party right by the busiest road in town aka "underage kegger".

I get there, the place is lights out, crowded as all hell, everyone is looking straight ghetto/hood rat. He shows me where he wants me to set up (where the speaker system is) and it's right next to the sink/where the copious amounts of low quality hard A is being dealt.

long story short i left when he was n't looking.

Once I had to do a gig and had to bring my own speakers and amp. It went good for about 3 hours and then, nothing, just a little bit of smoke coming out of my amp. Back then I was really mad about it, now I'm having a laugh when I think of it. Oh, i've never brought my speakers again to a gig.

Watching clusters of 15-18 y/o's do entirely too much MDMA at an airport rave, wondering man how the hell are they ever going to make it past minimum wage. Totally sweat-ridden, zombified, overtly sexual and sloppified beasts of young people. There's definitely an age you shouldn't do that drug before. But if you have, oh well. You're still alive, right?

That and then I messed up a jog in front of the promoters (which lasted all of about 5 seconds), and it was to be my last airport rave.! I still shoulda got paid way more for having memories of those kids ingrained in my brainhole.

Hardly a bad "worst experience;" I guess I've gotten off light.

wtf is an airport rave?

Like, a rave in an actual functioning airport with the public coming in and going out of flights as the rave is going down? :corntard:

Hah! That would have been much more interesting. Instead I'm just referring to this industrial area of town adjacent to the airport.

We did have a rave in the college football stadium the other day, I wonder if they synched up the stadium lights to the beats at all.
