Lool, I seriously can't tell if you're serious anymore. I mean you can't really be that thick.. can you? Maybe you're just evolving into meta-perej.

Main synth lead in this song, comes in at around 1:06. Pretty neat sounding imho.

Pretty much, layered 2 massive patches - first played an octave higher than the other and was a Square and Saw combo. The second was a combo of PWM waves. The first had a Scream filter linked to the envelope and the second had a lowpass filter. Both had pluck style envelopes - and both had the same glide. Bit of saturation, bit of reverb.

The other thing I think makes that Zinc lead sound good is the way he's arranged the notes so they glide really nicely. If it was straight notes (kinda like I did) it doesn't sound good at all.

Hi,

Im very into this kind of dubstep but i just can't figure out how they make that bassline. Im using Massive and FL Studio.
I've been searching and trying to do this for the past week but it aint nowhere near that. Im a total nub with massive and FL.
I hear this in allot of tunes (Trom, AD, Subfiltronik, Blankface, Knife etc) and i want to start doing it also but then changing the sound a bit. It's more how they do that bassline like that. It's mostly the same in every tune with a change of pitch sometimes. I've tried and kinda hopeless...

(i already made a thread but i thought i get more in this thread)

Hope you guys can help me. (maybe with a preset xD)

Thanks in advance!

A square wave or saw wave, or maybe even detune square or saw, with a low pass or band pass filter envelope and some resonance, play around with that shit and youll get summat good probs

I too would like to know more about this sound... It's kinda hard to zero in on what sound exactly, its more like the ambience surrounding and background chords. It just sounds rough.

Take 'Lost' for example

The bass sounds really lo fi, what would an effect chain be like for this and what's a good distortion plugin (preferably free) to achieve a lo fi sound. I'm running ableton, and havent been able to find any distortion tool that I like. Redux ain't doin it for me
