Summary: The fan favorite and critically lauded Clubroot debut LP, long sold at towering prices by collectors in its instantly out-of-print 2009 vinyl version, returns in a limited, hand numbered pressing, remastered and containing an original to this release sequence of 8 tracks.
In what by most would be considered a pretty small amount of time, through three full lengths and a smattering of singles, St. Alban's Clubroot has opened and closed a loop on a form of Garage which will forever endure as among the most refined and complex musical accomplishments committed to artifact in these last four years. As we approach the definitive release of his much loved, self titled debut opus, this seems as clear as the stars. However, it was not always so evident.
First introduced to the world via Mary Anne Hobbs' BBC1 Experimental radio show, and his featured mix on that program in early 2009, Clubroot instantly became a polarizing artist. While literally none would question the quality and grandeur of his debut release, its dark, atmospherically complexity and melodic beauty was the only accomplishment to reach the heights of one of Dubsteps most beloved artists, and thus created a stir among a vocal minority similar to a body rejecting a badly needed organ transplant.
Of course, this discourse only helped spread the word, and as more heard the album, these voices where hushed by the sheer volume of appreciators who fervently pointed out the wealth of complexities in Clubroot which bear no direct contemporaries. From Electronic Explorations, and their showcase of Clubroot, to Pitchfork Media, and their glowing review, it became clear that the world of Bass music had a new singular artist, which ultimately was only further cemented by the yet unimagined "II-MMX" and this years "III-MMXII".
Now, with all said and done on the Trilogy, LoDubs is proud to announce what is in our view the definitive version of the first Clubroot LP, Remastered with perfection by the same artist responsible for the last two full lengths, Sam At Precise, and featuring an unheard version of a favorite never before on vinyl, 'Nexus'.
As this is the closing release from LoDubs of 2012, and will coincide with what is popularly known as "Black Friday Record Store Day", we will also be offering this as a one time color vinyl release, with each hand numbered and stickered to show its designation, thus ensuring another highly prized artifact to be added to the vault.
Quantity of the color vinyl version is going quickly, so ordering before the ship date (Friday, November 30th) is highly recommended.
