sorry mate, that doesn't make any sense at all. illegally downloading has nothing to do with decency. it's not like there is some sort of etiquette to pirating. and waiting to the release date doesn't make it any more right or decent.Muncey wrote:Its common decency towards the artist, label and those preparing to buy it.. Re: Kahn
From a producer or labels point of view leaking before the release date is worse.. its avaliable to those unwilling to pay and support before it is to those who are willing to pay and support. I wasn't saying there was some sort of etiquette I was saying that the two leaking are different... just like walking into a record shop and stealing records is different.baddis98 wrote:sorry mate, that doesn't make any sense at all. illegally downloading has nothing to do with decency. it's not like there is some sort of etiquette to pirating. and waiting to the release date doesn't make it any more right or decent.Muncey wrote:Its common decency towards the artist, label and those preparing to buy it.. It makes no sense to you because you don't see any different in the 2. It boils down to opinion really, some will be annoyed with a leak before a release for whatever reason and some wont.
Re: Kahn
i'm not argueing with that point. but you said it would be common decency for the leaker to wait until the official release date, which doesn't make sense to me. those people boost their ego with leaking stuff so why would they care? if they had respect for the producer or label they wouldn't leak it in the first place. to use your stealing example: if you wanted to steal a new unreleased product right off the truck, would you care about waiting until it's officially available in shops out of respect for other customers or the company?Muncey wrote:From a producer or labels point of view leaking before the release date is worse.. its avaliable to those unwilling to pay and support before it is to those who are willing to pay and support.baddis98 wrote:sorry mate, that doesn't make any sense at all. illegally downloading has nothing to do with decency. it's not like there is some sort of etiquette to pirating. and waiting to the release date doesn't make it any more right or decent.Muncey wrote:Its common decency towards the artist, label and those preparing to buy it.. Agree with 90% of this.....also anyone heard of producers watermarking records with slight drum pattern differences to find out who leaked tracks? seems to be quite common practicebaddis98 wrote:i'm not argueing with that point. but you said it would be common decency for the leaker to wait until the official release date, which doesn't make sense to me. those people boost their ego with leaking stuff so why would they care? if they had respect for the producer or label they wouldn't leak it in the first place. to use your stealing example: if you wanted to steal a new unreleased product right off the truck, would you care about waiting until it's officially available in shops out of respect for other customers or the company?Muncey wrote:From a producer or labels point of view leaking before the release date is worse.. its avaliable to those unwilling to pay and support before it is to those who are willing to pay and support.baddis98 wrote:sorry mate, that doesn't make any sense at all. illegally downloading has nothing to do with decency. it's not like there is some sort of etiquette to pirating. and waiting to the release date doesn't make it any more right or decent.Muncey wrote:Its common decency towards the artist, label and those preparing to buy it.. Re: Kahn
That was a night to remember. I was burning herbs in the back, and when Kahn hit the decks I said "Ya know what, we bout to burn herb in here on the dancefloor." Only thing that was bummin me out was moshers makin the decks skip. Kahn is a very impressive musician tho, he didnt let it phase him one bit. Hatcha on the 9th btw, same spot.Moultz wrote:youuuu know! It went so well in Kahn's set in LA. The guy knows his shit man.
