I'm having the most frustrating problem. I've been producing for a year on and off now, but no matter what I do, I can't seem to get a really full sound. Here is an example of my latest track:
Soundcloud
I want to get my tracks to sound more full and evolving like this at 1:22
The bass just really pops out and smacks the listener. How is this achieved????
thanks
Need help with a fuller sound

Re: Need help with a fuller sound
It has to do with sound design, layering, mixing and arrangement. After a year, how can you expect to have the expertise of a "professional"?
You need to design and refine your certain sounds to fill up a track if you want to make it sound full. You have to use just the right amount of stereo width, compression, limiting. You have to be able to know and listen for what to EQ to make sounds fit together just right. Give yourself some more time dude and it'll come together for you. Watch tutorials, experiement, and look at the spectrum/stereo width of pro tracks with visualizers to see where yours comes short and try to bridge the gap with practice.

Everything said above.
From a quick listen to your track:
a) work on your mixdowns a lot
b) work on EQing your basses/mids
c) avoid so much distortion
d) work on sound design, the yois sound straight out of Massive.
