what's wrong with Mark Ronson? I haven't listened to Version in years but I used to really like it. This looks quite interesting, I love the fact that Skream tries new things rather than 140 over and over and over.

Also i'm guessing it's Die as in

that's a serious tune

Just look at his Skreamizm tour. Very ecclectic line-ups. Im feeling it tbh.

He is organising Croydub on 23rd December also. Should be good, I'll be in attendance.

I never said there was anything 'wrong' with Mark Ronson. It's just another Skream move closer to bublegum pop, so it's interesting & worth discussion.

the fact you're suggesting the next progression is Skream + One Direction sort of suggests you think there is

That is assuming there is something 'wrong' with One Direction? I'm not sure there is, it's just bubblegum pop - many people love it.

Its not the first time Mark Ronson has been on the same lineup as Skream. Mark Ronson was at a WHP event this year with Rodigan, EZ, The Bug.

I don't see how this means anything. If anything I think Skream has made massive improvements on his DJ sets in recent times.. picking out some classic garage/house/acid stuff.. his Rinse show was ridiculous too.

The Skream hate was funny when he was playing borderline brostep stuff, finishing every set with Rage Against The Machine and stage diving like a rockstar... its not so funny now.

People need to get off skreams back, the guy has forged out a very credible career..
Of course I'd still love it if he followed more in the same path ahas mala has and stayed true to the original sound of dubstep, but people move on, times change.
He seems as if he's stopped so much with the brosteppy stuff and has started to go in a different direction again..

I much prefer his recent dj sets to the ones that involve more bro steppy stuff.

Mark ronson is a phenomenal dj also so seems like a night I'd very much like to go to.

Who is on screams back?

Just to be clear:

by 'i dont know what to make of it' i really mean i don't know how its going to be.

and, "what next Skream & One direction?" i mean the more commercial route he is going down this is not far from being likely.

A night of disco, funk and boogie actually sounds good to me :Q:

But the only evidence of this "commercial route" hes taking is that hes on a lineup with Mark Ronson. As I said last month Mark Ronson was on the same bill as The Bug, EZ and Rodigan. It doesn't prove anything about the direction hes moving in.

Skream has made plenty of moves into commercialism, magnetic man for one, a radio one show, he is doing adverts for Sony. He is also collaborating with commercial artists - Example for one who actually writes One Direction songs (apparently).

and the WHP lineups seem like a mashup of different stuff, like a lot of festival line ups. These Independent nights like this are often geared towards something/ a certain crowd. Apparently "Disco, Funk and Boogie" which sounds interesting.

I love the fact that a lot of peeps on here think I'm a commercial money grabber....
Actually look at what I do, I've never really attempted to be a pop/commercial artist.
I do what I do, people forget before this career I was a music lover as I still am today...
I don't chase fame like ALOT of other artists nowadays, my name is just always mentioned for better or worse...

The party I do with die is about playing music we love and don't have much chance to play and for everyone to have a good time.
The fact Ronson is on the bill is irrelevant, at the end of the day he's just another successful music lover.

Saying someone makes commercial music is not the same as calling them a "commercial money grabber" :a:

Even if choices were not made for financial reasons the end result is the same - a more commercial output and following. (Not saying that is a bad thing)
skream wrote:I do what I do, people forget before this career I was a music lover as I still am today...
I don't think anyone has doubted that.

The type of music & atmosphere of the night is relevant and often linked to the lineup. - And from what people are saying about Mark Ronson as a DJ it should be a good one. :W:

That may be so, being on a lineup with Mark Ronson is not one of those moves.

Anyone who's listened to Skream's Rinse shows, seen him live or things like his Boiler Room set with Disclosure,
or just chatted to him, knows he's into all kinds of music, just like most people are out in the real world.

"Successful music lover"... I like that Skream, and your enthusiasm for what you think is good :Q:
