Tracking vocals...advice!

Post by shinra » Sun Dec 02, 2012 10:37 pm

I'm going to be tracking some vocals this week. Any last advice anybody can throw out there? I'm very worried about flutter echoes in the room, it's tragic for reverb.

In other words, is it going to be worthwhile stapling a duvet to her face?

i see your point. any future commenters be assured that regardless of acoustic impact, a duvet will be stapled to her face.

If you're down with stapling stuff, staple sheets or blankets in a circle around where she will be singing to the ceiling so they hang down. They should diffuse enough of the early reflections while still giving you some decent room sound.

If you have a load of extra mic stands that works super well to, just gets kinda blanket-forty, might kill the vibes. hah

Just be sure to give her a chance to breath.
Face down in the mattress doesn't always sound best.
