Best beginner software?

Hey, I have just started making dubstep with this free online tool but it is quite basic. So I am looking for a cheapish beginner program that I can make dubstep with.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

I'd also try demo's from cubase, reason + fruity loops

Each have a "lite" version which is considerably cheaper than the full one, you can get songs down and learn that bit and if you decide to take it further you can always upgrade at a later date.

I'd say give the Reason demo a go, or maybe get the lite version.

I personally think it's a great introduction into the music tech world. It has decent arrangement tools with good shortcuts, helps you get your head around routing and also lets you fuck about with synths, which face it, that's what we all love to do!

Actually i think all the programs stated are okay. Every program is gonna have a learning curve but i'd choose one that YOU feel comfortable with. Nearly all programs have demos that you can try out.

I have tried every DAW that will probably be suggested for more than just a demo. I feel in love with Ableton, it just clicks with me. If I had the money for a MAC I would be using logic though.

I would suggest Reason to start.
It give you a good understanding of how most DAWs work and how hardware works in the real world. Once you get to the point when your doing some crazy, badass, round back, routing in reason, move on to something a little more up market like, Logic, Cubase, Reaper or Ableton.

Some might say that is a backwards way to do things but my reason is clear, no pun intended.

Also don't be a bad boy and download your DAW of choice after trying the demos from the PirateBay.

Don't listen to this. Pick one daw that you think suits all your needs and stick with. No daw is going to give you better sound over another so don't believe that either

If you have a mac, I've heard of people learning the basics with garageband and then moving up to logic. Not sure what the windows equivalent would be(if one even exists), but surely you can find free applications or demos to learn the ropes with.
Most programs do a lot of the same stuff, so it's just your preference. Maybe watch some videos of people using different ones and see which one seems to make the most sense straight away?
But do stick with one and read the manual and learn how to do whatever you want to with it. You don't want to spend so many hours being a novice at 4 different daws if you stick with one and learn it in and out. same with synths.

None of these DAWs are really "easy" DAWs, except garage band. There was that DubTurbo program, but I haven't used it.

If you're going to use Reaper, you'll need a decent synth like Synth1.
