HATCHA
Hatcha is a Dubstep producer and DJ and arguably one of the most important names across the genre. Hatcha’s start in electronic music began in the late 1990’s within the UK garage scene. He was the original buyer of the Big Apple record shop (now defunct) and was one of the earliest DJ’s to promote the dark 2step strains being made by producers locally (DJ’s such as Artwork, Horsepower and El-B). As the producers would come and sell the white labels of these tracks within his record store, a local community grew. The shop then started its own label, Big Apple Records and released ‘Red’, a Dubstep classic by Artwork. The next releases were from Dubstep protégés, Skream and Benga.
In 2001, the legendary Dubstep club Forward>> was founded and started with DJ Hatcha as resident. It was here that his career began to rapidly grow. His sets began to played on pirates stations, starting in the south of London with stations such as Rinse FM and Kiss. He then took three further dubstep producers under his wing – Coki, Loefah and Mala Digital Mystikz. The destiny of the dubstep genre truly lay in his hands, he would be carving out the direction with everything he played. In 2003, Hatcha even had influence in the name of the genre. Labels Big Apple, Ammunition and Tempa began circulating the term dubstep (conceived from dubby 2step garage).

Hatch has been largely influenced by the work of other producers on the scene; his success has come from being able to spot the hottest new talent across the genre!

SAM SUPA AKA PRINCE ZAMMYSUREFIRE / HOTNHEAVY / BRAP DEM! REC San Francisco based DJ and Producer SAM SUPA has been at the core of the West Coast Bass music scene for years and has been working behind the scenes for even longer. A Bass Music Professional, Sam plays 90 to 170 BPM music influenced by DRUM & BASS, PUNK, METAL, SOUL, HOUSE, DUB, mashing into many other styles. He has produced and released 128 to 140 BPM tracks for HOT N HEAVY RECORDINGS and has remixes forthcoming. He runs BRAP DEM! RECORDINGS a diverse bass music label, pushing Dubstep, 2 Step and Grime and other forms of bass music. He has shared the stage with FLYING LOTUS, BENGA, CRYSTAL CASTLES, SKREAM, CASPA, RUSKO, DMZ, PLASTICIAN, DIPLO, 12TH PLANET, DJ GODFATHER and many more. He also promotes for SUREFIRE SOUND in SAN FRANCISCO and he also held residency at SAN FRANCISCO’s classic Grime Dubstep and Sublow night GRIME CITY.
The Genie (Live)

The Genie is an avant-garde guitarist, performer, and musical pioneer best known to audiences for his 'scratch guitar' shows, a unique performance involving live looping, slide guitar, beatboxing, unconventional syncopation, and various original techniques which he has crafted. In 2002 he made his debut in Montreal at the DMC Championships and later at the Canadian National DMC Championships. He went on to collaborate with Canadian producer DJ Horg and recorded his debut CD, The Genie-Rebel Music in 2002. He was immediately signed to Montreal's High Life Music label (HLM), receiving Canadian distribution. In 2004 he returned to San Francisco where his performances immediately drew attention from the local media as he continued to stun audiences with his unique styles. Since that time he has recorded two follow-up CD's, The Genie-Entropic (recorded live in Hawaii) and Aquadry, a collaborative side-project. His music ranges various genres and his broad range of musical interpretation has made fans of every generation and cultural background. Honing his "scratch guitar" showcase as full-time performer for the past seven years has elevated him into an elite level of performance and today he is considered one of the best live-loopers in the world. In 2007 he was profiled in Guitar Player Magazine (June) and was featured on Current TV in a piece entitled "What is Scratch Guitar", which was voted number 1 and aired on national TV in the US and UK.
