Well, I disagree, I think the fact her voice isn't that great (in the traditional sense), actually makes it better . It's more her tone than her ability to sing which I like, she has quite an unusual sound. & that mixed with the instrumentation does it for me :W:

agree to disagree, it's all just personal taste

her voice sounds put on is the problem. like she is trying to compensate for the fact she can't sing.

but yeah let's not derail this thread too much.

yeah if unique means bland production, poor songwriting and shit singing

actually it makes sense. Trendy over hyped content lacking music for someone who buys trendy over priced fashion.
I don't know, I included it in my Best Albums of the Year because it was less trendy for me than her two previous albums. In fact, I think it is a straight pop album. I listen to plenty of underground stuff so I'm not too worried about this making me more (or less whatever floats your boat) hipster.
If I'm going to listen to pop, I need albums with decent melody. Her singing isn't great (perhaps neither is her production) but there are certain melodic qualities in this release that I do like.
I also had two Death Grips albums in there, Vatican Shadow's Ornamented Walls and Raime's new album: plenty of hard to digest stuff. I like both!

People need to learn to stop hyping and expecting too much then they won't be disappointed by the likes of Mala in Cuba and Shackletons album, both I thought were fantastic.

Daphni and John Talabots albums were very good. Keepers of the Light deserves to be up there, one of the stand out albums for me. I need to give Actress - RIP, Andy Stott - Luxury Problems, Vessel - Order Of Noise more listens.

Sigur Ros - Valtari was a good album (The Bug recommended it on fb).
