You can't know everything. Most probably not my taste of music. Listened to that Pan soundfile on the RA and found it horrible. Pseudo 80ties sound, which tries to sound underground. Yeah to be honest the stuff they put out isn't for everyone at all.datilt wrote:You can't know everything. Most probably not my taste of music. It's weird how alot of people saying that LIES dont deserve top spot and it seems they are like a big hyped label for this year? I havent really heard anything about them haha, but since hearing of them, I really like the delroy edwards stuff

i'm surprised at the lack of awareness of LIES
or am I?
basically they've been an unmissable presence is decent specialist vinyl shops all this year
perhaps that's the difference - discovering music in physical shops that import records??
i'm very lucky to live in a town where records on LIES are relatively common place
i'll say that....

I agree. If I didn't regularly visit record stores I wouldn't know they existed, I think the lack of promotion and excellent distribution makes them more well known to people that actually go to record stores rather than people who buy online or follow hypedj donga wrote:i'm surprised at the lack of awareness of LIES

dunno about that. I don't go to any physical record stores.
Re: RA Top 20 Labels of 2012
That Heatsick EP linked on the RA list isn't representative of PAN as a whole. Their back catalogue is quite broad. I'd dig a bit deeper before you dismiss them.datilt wrote:You can't know everything. Most probably not my taste of music. Listened to that Pan soundfile on the RA and found it horrible.
