KRK ROKIT RP8G2 - soundcard advice

Post by wobbler. » Wed Dec 19, 2012 7:07 am

I'm getting a pair of KRK ROKIT RP8G2 studio monitors - will be using them for my desktop computer & DJ setup (turntables/4 channel mixer - not music production at this stage). On a relatively tight budget - what soundcard would you recommend I get for them? Also isolation pads a must?

Cheers

i use a relatively cheap tascam interface and isolation pads are really useful. ;)

got a model number for that bruv? so with one of these i'll be able to have the rokits hooked up to my desktop computer & 4 channel mixer with quality sound yeah? currently got on-board sound on the computer and it sounds like shit! obviously want the monitors to sound as good as possible without me forking out big $$$ for a soundcard. cheers !

Tascam us 144mkii, but i guess you can use any USB Audio interface in that price range. They work just fine with studio monitors. I dont know what you need to hook a mixer up as well, because i don't own one.

what about the Mbox 2 Mini? Can pick one of these up for about $100-150 in as new condition locally - bit confused to be honest is this what i'm after?

I always thought they were only pro-tools compatible, but they might work with other things as well.

I'd look into Focusrite's range of basic interfaces
