All courses have a set grades target you need to get

Btw £9000 is crazy....

Especially when the maximum was just over £1000 6 years ago when i finished my degree

I dont get why some universities only want rich students. I mean wouldnt it be better to have all kinds of People instead of only having People from the upper class graduating? Guess its about traditions and stuff...

I don't think they only want rich students. They just want you to pay £9000 a year. None of my mates are rich in the slightest, didn't stop them going though. Pretty sure 99% of unis don't care who goes, as long as they're paying.

In the us it varies. Some state schools are more expensive that private ifs and visa versa. There's no limit to what they can charge per year, the most expensive school I know of 60k a year but that's also one of the top schools in the country

I stood on Fred Talbot's floating weather map when I was about 9 or 10. Probably had DLT on in the car on the way home and watched Jim'll Fix It before the local priest tucked me safely into bed with his "special blessing" using that sticky balm.

So did ours actually. Mr Price. Used to sit on a stool and watch kids shower if he thought they'd tried to get out of it after rugby.

On my first day of Year 7, a car pulled up, an ex-student leapt out of the passenger seat, punched Mr Price in the face then jumped back in and they screeched off burning their tyres out all the way down the road past school. Always wondered quite what triggered that... I don't think anyone even contemplated the idea that Mr Price might've not deserved it. He definitely fucking deserved it. You could tell.

I still owe over £8k on my University fees and I've been graduated 8yrs

I still owe the same amount as when i left, all i've done over the last 5 years is pay off the interest

UCAS can suck my balls at the moment no way they're touching my pay now I'm over here


Course it does leave me with a bill to settle if/when I eventually come back to the UK, but we'll jump off that bridge when we come to it.

A former teacher from Tonbridge has been sentenced to nine years in prison for a series of child sex offences, including rape.

Kevin Wells, 53, of Bishops Oak Ride, was jailed at Maidstone Crown Court after pleading guilty to 14 charges.

He was a head of year seven at Ravens Wood School, in Bromley, when arrested in February. None of the charges relate to a child at the school.

Computer equipment taken from his home showed he had recorded online abuse.

Detective Sergeant David Shipley, of Kent Police's Public Protection Unit, said: "Wells was in contact with a number of vulnerable children, for his own sexual gratification.

"He went further than online offending, and met with a very vulnerable and young child, where serious sexual offences took place.

"This case is an example of how online behaviour can change to real world abuse, and should highlight the dangers of child exploitation online and that these are real children with real lives that are damaged."

Following a search police discovered evidence showing Wells had downloaded child abuse images and videos.
'Suspended immediately'

He also admitted talking to children online using a webcam and engaging in sexual activity, which he recorded, and that he had travelled to Berkshire where he met a boy and abused him.

A spokeswoman for Bromley Council said "normal safeguarding procedures" were followed as soon as police informed Ravens Wood School that an investigation was under way.

She said: "Mr Wells was suspended immediately and he subsequently resigned from his post.

"The school's own investigation and that of the police found no evidence whatsoever of any wrongdoing connected with the school, its pupils, staff or equipment."

Wells was also made subject to a Sex Offences Prevention Order for 20 years, which will control the access he has to both children and the internet.
