I personally spend about £200 a month on vinyl. I love it, but there are only so many places you can wear it, especially in this hot weather.

I'm gonna buy that M-Audio TORQ Conectiv next week, anyone used it?
Yeah man I've been on torq since Dec. Really good programme, got added advantages such VST effects and midi control if you want - I don't tend to use them though.

I mainly use it for the vinyl control or just with my normal mixer when just want to have a play.

If you've got a mac it works great but I think you will need to tweek a windows computer to really get it working well. Also not available for windows vista, but vista is shit anyway.

That's the only one worth speaking of brother :) You won't get that feeling of vinyl warmth if you just rip it to wav and play it on serato..

Besides, the only technical difference will be the pressing - the mastering is what gives your tunes that edge.

I'm sure any relatively well-known producer/dj could sell their dubs for twice the price they paid to get them cut, so surely its pretty cost-effective.

It is nice having dubplates though! If I had the money I'd cut too - only difference is I'd play the hell out of them

So what would sound better, a transition mastered wav or a transition cut dubplate? And why? I'm curious...

You cannot compare a cd master and a dubplate,These formats reproduce sound differently.

A dubplate is generally not mastered,Yes it is processed accordingly but there are limits.

When you pay for a dub(and i can only speak for Transition on this one)you are paying for the engineers experience the sixty grands(UK) worth of equipment that is used in the process and the price of the actual disk(Dub),and the half an hour that it takes to complete the process, and the electricity, and the rent and the insurance and the..........................

Don't believe the hype no one cuts ten dubs a week,Most cut one or two.

On a proper system most people will be able to tell the difference between a 320 mp3 and a wav.

Jason
If not comparable, is there a different in quality between a mastered WAV or a dubplate?

i mean a professionally mastered WAV will have passed through thousands of pounds worth of high quality equimpment and recieved as much care as a dubplate.

I've been asked to play a dubstep set at a Greek wedding. Will my dub plates be safe?
