So by FAR my biggest trouble in my production is making synths, specifically uplifting ones, so aything from nice housey stabs to beautiful flowing pads.
My drums come on leaps n bounds each time i sit down to make a tune, especially since i started recording my own, but....na synthesis, im rubbish.
Just asking for a few pointers please if anyone can suggest good osc's to start with other than 'colors' (in massive) or anything really to help me out

First of all that sound is sampled, you can tell because it speeds up/slows down depending on the pitch.
What you're looking for is an ooh/ahh vocal style chorus sound.

thanks again, yes it almost sounds like its vocals layered with a synth doesn't it?
Im fine with sampling but find it very hard to find the sounds im looking for that are raw with no drums vocs etc, any pointers?
i would try the korg wavestation VST from the korg legacy collection - some really good pad presets in that that you can chop up and put in a sampler. i think thats how a lot of house/techno producers make synths like that. it's only 50 dollars (£30).

I know Neon Jung is tight with Lone so it could be a similar thing, but i read once that Lone deliberately makes his stuff sound sampled, without really sampling. So like one thing you could do if you want the sampled effect (I kinda prefer it really) is to make a nice stab or pad with a synth, and then re-sample a chord or something so that then when played through the sampler it will obvs pitch it up and down then and play faster or slower. So like if you have a phaser or have sampled a bit of grit behind the pad, then it will change speed. Obvs if you just have a straight up prolonged pad that has no movement, then re-sampling probably wont make much of a different, except for being easier to bash out a sampled chord sounding pattern due to a whole chord being on jsut one note.
but yeah like has been said, detuned waves, doesn ahve to be saws, chorus, flanger reverb whatever, just add effects to make it sound big. the notes played will also make a difference.
I was starting to think that massive may be aimed at the nasty basslines n heavy sounds a little more than my prefered mellow sounds and maybe another synth might suit better. I guess its fine though, just my skill with it i guess
Look for flute/woodwind style synth sounds (eq to emphasize the breathy bit), or like i said human chorus vocal styles oohs/ahhs, you can stack them or put them in a chord. Hell layer in some pad with some movement in it. Bounce out a long note and toss it in your sampler.
Here's made a quick example for you so you can hear the audible difference.
The first part is just a female ooh choir style preset from Omnisphere, playing it normal (it's technically a multisample library, but like having a choir singing the whole range).
I then just sampled a long C note and tossed it into Kontakt and played back the same notes as the original.
