Wondering what this hardware is...

Post by JorgyTheGreat » Wed Jan 09, 2013 2:39 am

I was wondering what this dude was using. I like his music and want to know how he's making his sounds and what not.
Here are some shots of his home studio. I'm really interested in the mixer he's using and the interfaces under his mixer. Also, out of curiosity, what the red thing is all the way to the right.
Thanks in advance!

Not a mixer, looks like mackie control surfaces and one of those transport + jogwheel controllers from avid on the right.

Yea looks like 3 of the Mackie Control Extender Pro, but it's missing the top readout.
The other is a monitor/source selector like the Mackie Big Knob, but not that particular unit.
Design on both looks similar, but not exact to anything I've seen before, even browsing catalogs and such.

Looks like an Avid Artist Transport but with grey finish to match the artist audio series.

So, now it's driving me nuts...what about the red box all the way to the right fellas. The red keyboard looks like it might be a Nord? But to the right of that, no idea...

Thats Rednek right? Pretty sure he doesn't use half of that stuff to anywhere near it's full potential - most of his songs are just hundreds of Massive based midrange synths jammed together.

Not a clue on the control surfaces but fairly sure those aren't Mackie faders.

Bottom picture is a Mackie Big Knob above the keyboard, that's about all I can spot.

If you look at the picture of the control surface/mixer thing, it's one thing, not three. There isn't a seam or end like there would be if there was three things placed next to each other.

I looked up what the Artist Transport looks like, I don't think that's it. The buttons are different and the Transport has a LCD screen built in.

I thought it might have been a Nord as well but wasn't sure.

The light grey could indicated early Euphonix surfaces, before they were labelled as Avid. Maybe that's why it looks so alike but with different faders and colours.

Ah was looking at it on a tablet, was kind of hard to tell with the small image on a small screen heh.
