going for a technics is a safe bet, they're super cheap and no matter what you choose, at least decent quality

here's one i know of (with vu meter too!)

Just seen this thread - the opal tapes releases are class!

I quite like the nostalgia factor but it is annoying not having a walkman as I listen to alot of music on the move.

nother tech question
if a tapedeck has 2 mono mic ins then it can record stereo right? (some have them labelled 1 and 2 others L and R)
i know it sounds like a retarded question but better be sure before i buy the wrong one

Absolutely immense new releases out on rwdfwd now.

Just picked up the 2 monkeytek releases, and the zamzam one too. Would've got the jabu release, but picked that up the other day.

Has anyone picked up the strategy ep from rwdfwd? Looks pretty good but I haven't had a chance to listen to the samples yet. Interested to see the metal cassette, that's something new to me.

I thought about it, the previews sound like something would grow on me, but I'd already bought three other cassettes so I'm giving it a miss at the moment. Might pick it up once I've been paid if it's still in stock.

I was thinking I might wait until I get paid as well. I'm meant to be saving this month as Christmas raped my wallet, ended up dropping £65 on records yesterday anyway :(

Never paid attention to cassettes until the Gorgon Grime one, after listening I'm definitely planning on getting a few more. I liked the fact it was on cassette, my tape player is in a different room so I had to just sit and listen and do nothing else really, mess about on my phone but thats it.. and I liked that. Digital format I mainly listen to when I'm doing work on my laptop or out (listening on my phone) & vinyl I only really listen to when I'm mixing.. so although its 'just another format' I was forced to listen in a different setting.. was enjoyable.

Yeah for sure.

Though I have an old sony walkman and listen to that tape out around town. It's the old walkman one of my mates owned at school and so says ED T = BLAZIN on it. Fuck knows who that was.

Watermelon Dub is one of my favourite mixes ever. Battered that one since I got it.
