SNH:Hip-Hop and Rap

Post by Johnlenham » Sun Jan 20, 2013 8:16 pm

Creating this in a way to recreate the now gone sub-forum...hopefully it goes well.

Post tunes, Chat about previous releases, future releases, stuff you've just found out about, gigs your headed to (or in my case right now, not! damn you kendrick lemar touts) and anything else related really.

Myself I only really started appreciating this kind of music at the beginning of last year so Im constantly working my way backwards.
Going to throw up some links and stuff as shitloads of videos destroys my work browser

Ill get this one out of the way first

MF DOOM/ VicktorV/Madvilani (Vauderville villan being my fav album of his atm but madvillani is a close second)

Also Big Krit and a whole alot of ignorant shit like Waka,Chief Keef, Guci mane, Juicy J, Meek mili, Rick Ross etc
So yeah there we go.
Cant wait for someone like contro or pkay to come in and call me a moron and say that they listened to all this is 1991 in a gas station and now its all shit and watered down crap

Also if someone has a link to the london shows thread ill put it in the OP, I cant find it to save my life.

UK hip hop right now is stronger than it has been in a long long time. Much more rich & diverse than the US scene atm:

Ed Scissortongue's album - one of the most cohesive albums i've listened to across any genre recently, far too good.

Other selected UK bangers:

& many more: Pete Cannon, Dr Syntax, Contact Play, Mystro, M9, Split Prophets, Concept of Thought, pretty much everyone on High Focus :Q:

I tried to search but got 0 results and asked a few folks and they all said there wasn't a single thread outside of a "what song are you listening to " type one.
Reminds me I need to link that in the Op..

Oh yeah and obviously uk stuff is all good.

Oh, but whilst I'm thinking about it... Nas and Meek Mill at the O2 in March... think V and I might well be at this one! £40/ticket's a bit steep, mind.

Last time I saw Nas I got in for free... but my lady's never seen him, so I might stump up for it. I'm taking it upon myself to take her to as many live shows as possible... didn't realise but last night's K.Dot show was the first 'proper' size rap show she'd ever been to. 8)
