Saffire 6 Latency issue (outside of DAW)
Hello all,
Long time no post!
So I have been having this problem with my Saffire the past few weeks.. Occasionally it'll pop into this weird state of bad latency and crackle/slow down the audio playing to a unlistenable state but its fine when the DAW is running AND when I close the DAW and relaunch my browser, spotify or anything like that. I generally have to unplug the soundcard and plug it back in before anything works again..
I have reinstalled drivers (twice!) and have unplugged everything USB bar my mouse just incase it was USB buffer loads.. Alas - no!
Heres a video...

Yo, got the Saffire 6 as well and had latency issues! You can try turning off any unnecessary devices in your device manager to reduce the latency, this worked for me as turning of my internet whilst producing stopped the issues (also stopped me aimlessly browsing Facebook and not getting stuff done, but that's a different matter :p). You can also try using a low latency sound driver. You can download a free latency checker to try and find out whats causing the issues from here http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml
Good piece of hardware but unfortunately from what I've seen elsewhere reoccurring issues with drivers ect
Hope this helps message me if i didnt explain very well ;P

I know this may sound obvious Legend4ry.
But have you tried asio4all?
I had issues with my ESI asio drivers causing massive latency.

Have a similar problem myself with me EMU0404 usb card..
Works like a charm for a few minutes then when I get something going everything slows down and distorts to high heaven. If i change the latency settings it fixes for a few seconds before starting again. SO I had to switch from using the onboard asio drivers to standard pc ones and just use the card as an output. bigger latency but at least I can produce. Selling it soon, thinking of going for a Focusrite Saffire PRO 14 Firewire, anyone vouch for them?

So my old PC died...
Got a new one the other day - no issues yet, so assuming it was just my dying PCs USB buffer loads.
