Whole mixdown sounds muffled like there is a lot of elements fighting for the same frequency space and it's very LOUD and disconcerting as a result.

Mixdown could do with another look, maybe EQing the elements around each other to create a bit more space and less of a clash in some freq ranges. What kind of processing is on the mix overall?

Well, I use a trial version of Mixcraft. I then record every different sets of tracks, e.g. drums, bass, etc. onto Audacity. Then I combine the tracks and export it. Why I do this is because I cannot export with mixcraft and if i record the whole song onto Audacity, it glitches, clicks, clips and pops and gets quite some latency. This song was an exception, in that there were not enough tracks to mess up the sound, so less space, RAM and CPU usage. Maybe I should have EQ'ed this song.

Honestly might just want to try a new method of recording all together. Sounds really messy with your current procedures mate.
