that's a good one.

To some extent this is true, but some of his production is, in my opinion, pushing things forward in his choppage, ive heard a lot of old school and his edits on Acid Rain or Trance still fucking cane it. And structurally his Out of Reach / Who What Where 12" brings some very very fresh styles. But the reason I love breakage is mainly because of his atmospheres - the sense of sorrow in his music makes it stand out a mile to me. When heard in a club, for me it changes what jungle makes me feel... rather than making me bruk out, it seems rather to meditatively envelop...the drums are primarily just an overwhelming wall of sound over which the melody dances and evokes. In a strange sense its comparable to some dubstep except the space created by minimal percussion is replaced by a complete, engulfing wall, but having a very similar effect on the role played by the other elements.numaestro wrote:With all due respect this is an opinion that seems quite common among some dnb heads but I dont get it - sure I'll drop breakage from time to time but aint nithing new there - aint pushing the sound. Go and check some old school gear - its the sme thing really just a bit rawer. Check some Ray Keith - it blows breakage clean out the water. No hating on the new dnb producers but I think they are overated a bit. Seems like peeps are a bit desperate to find some new leftfield heroes
Very true.Intoccabile wrote:I can't help but notice the similarities between Amit's production style and dubstep.
The atmospherics, the drum programming, even his choice of drum hits remind me of dubstep
Wouldn't surprise me if we hear something from him at a dubstep tempo. Klute is well known to be feelin the sound, been seen at FWD>> and so on... I'm sure someone was saying the same was true of Amit, but I might have made it up...Intoccabile wrote: Amit making dubstep would be sick !
Yeah, I'd be very surprised if either of them suddenly jumped on the bandwagon, so to speak. But Klute seems to like making his own thing outside dnb, so I wouldn't be surprised to hear the odd tune or two...KION wrote:I suspect they're feeling the sound, but will more than likely incorporate the skewed dynamics into their dnb rather than do dubstep itself. Might be wrong tho, but would make sense to do this rather than jump on a different train entirely.

I'm amazed at how much space there is in his tracks.
Very refreshing to hear something like this.
Makes me wonder why I ignored him for so long !

What do you think ?
Any other dnb producers who have a similar style ?
lol, reason why im not a huge fan of his tunes. it really does sound like that to me. the man is bad tho, no question. all evil. gotta at least respect that.Crazydave wrote:listened to those samples, cheers...
i can just TELL the D&B heads I know will say "why doesn't it burst into something? it's all intro"
peeps miss the point
