They're good but they have plastic bits around the edge sticking inwards, means I have to take the vinyls out at an angle which is okay but a nightmare for gatefold stuff.. scraps the edges and damages the cover.
yeah i have these, they suck for this reason

Would ideally like something that will fit my decks on top.
Which Expedit models are you using? I've got approx 900 vinyls
theyre really only liable to collapse when you set them up the tall way, mine is horizontal (4x2) and is really really stable
Mine is 4x4 though. Hope that's ok.

I also worry though. I live in a real old house and the records are upstairs. I worry about the strength of the floor...

i don't think there's anything that compares to a good expedit.

i want one of those boxes that hold like 50 records tho that you get in record shops. put a bunch in there then quick fire through the box

I've got these:

Since I didn't have the room for an expedit I was looking for something similar and after some searching I found those. Got a couple of 'em throughout my room atm.
Works perfectly imo, they give easy access and they look neat as well. Don't cost much either.

in Denmark we have the shop "ILVA" who competes with Ikea. They had a model with thicker dividers, and not the heavy frame of Expedit. They seems to be more reliable than the Expedit for heavy stuff... I got four of them in different sizes, and haven't had problems.... yet! Btw. I would not go for a 5X5, since it would have to lift a total of 5 x 5 x 20kg (ca. 100 records) = 500 kg
