Back in the game - New tune. My 'return' after hiatus

Post by reviewmaster » Thu Feb 07, 2013 10:42 am

Hi guys.

So here's my story. I had to give up music more or less all together a few years ago due to the stress of finding work after college and moving places became a little too much. Anyway, last year I was diagnosed with Glandular fever and I have just recently been signed off work by the doctor for 3 weeks. It's really given me pause and a chance to re-evaluate what I'm doing with work and my life. I decided I'm not happy unless my creative side is doing something so I've decided to get back to my no.1 creative passion and start producing again.

I used to lurk here a lot, but haven't done in a while. It's interesting to be back and see how the sounds influencing people have changed within Dubstep. There are a lot of Americans now!

Anyway here is the track I knocked out yesterday. As I haven't done this for a while I wanted to start with a sound familiar to me, and really get back to what first inspired me. A lot of the current 'dubsteppers' out there might find this strange, but the track I drew inspiration from and pay homage to here is Haunted by Digital Mystikz. Any feedback and / or encouragement is welcome. It's good to be back :)

Oh and for those of you curious about the Digital Mystikz track ... here's a youtube link:

Drums are pretty cool in this, I like the bass sounds at 1:26 too, keep up the good work!

Yes this is very "old school" and I love old school. I even post it on my facebook account. Awesome work on the bass man. The drum kit it's kinda "weak" for me but I understand it.

Hope you find some time to check one or two of my songs. Cheers.

Damn, it's nice. I'd replace a snare, it sounds a bit bro.

Glad to have you back mate. So hard to find tracks with this type of old school vibe to them anymore. Like many said I'd re-think the snare but im diggin it big time
