image size.. again

I've had this problem before, the last time I added dead space around my image to make it fit sound clouds profile image but now the white space shows in the enlarged version.

All I want is for the logo/wallpaper to fit facebook, soundcloud images without needing to be cropped exact for each one, is there any easy way around this? Uploading it regularly makes it zoom in horribly.
