I didn't enjoy it.
It detracted from the original too much for me.
Driving up and gunning an area down with the mounted machine gun got boring real fast.
I didn't give it a chance though, it could have developed as the game progressed but I wouldn't know.

far cry 3 was the first in the series that i played.. i enjoyed it but i feel the game play between the two is vastly different.

i'm usually only on the mounted gun when i encounter stray enemies on the road.. the camps require a far more tactical approach..

I came from Farcry 1 which was a great game.
I was and still am a fan of the island setting.
Swimming and sneaking up on enemies.

Africa and the desert just seemed too sparse and the driving around got boring for me.
I used to drive into the centre of a village and only use the mounted gun.
It was not my idea of a good tactical experience.
No 3 however returned to the things i loved.

far cry 3 is almost unrealistic in terms of layout.. most camps are ridiculously exposed. i loved the stealth/knife mechanics in far cry 3 and avoided as much gunplay as i could wheras i'm all over the fire fights in this game. the ai is arguably better, might be something to do with the mod though

also not quite sure what configuration you played on but my character would certainly die if i were to drive into the centre of a hostile area, the mod makes you as nearly as vulnerable as the enemies.. currently have it on 'hardcore' but theres a difficulty higher which they recommend..

This is one of the most influential games I played as a kid, and still holds up as one of the scariest games of all time, it's a shame the series became Bioshock (while awesome it's not the same).

Oh and Serious Sam 3 is included in this cheap bundle for those of you who miss good FPS shooters http://www.indieroyale.com/
I was just talking to a mate about System Shock 2 and how it pretty much hasn't been surpassed for the suspense it created..fookin mint, think ive still got a copy somewhere..

Still lovin Far Cry 3, the skill trees are a bit simple though, I've rinsed them all and now can't upgrade til I complete more missions..also, it's really disconcerting that the guys on your side all seem to have real confidence issues, whenever I'm hanging around a camp I just hear them whispering to themselves, constantly going " I'M THE MAN" and not sounding like they believe it.

Hahaha yeah true that, listening to pirates shouting "I'M GONNA GUT THIS MOTHERFUCKER WHEN I FIND HIM" 20 times and in the end never finding you can also become quite long

SPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILER

Only thing I properly hated in this game was Vaas's death. Seriously ? He's one of the greatest villains I've ever played against and THAT's the death he gets ? the ink monster bullshit was more spectacular !!!!

It has moments that are certainly uninspiring but the game in it's overall package is bloody great imo.
It may sound strange but I accustomed it to DayZ, roaming around in the forests and choosing alternative strategies to complete missions rather than the standard run n gun.

i agree, really really love this game. i will admit there are plenty of things that piss me off. such as the driving, now i really like the driving, but there is just too much of it even with bus stops. the save feature is crap. i mean if there wasn't so much driving it would be fine. nothing worse then driving for 15mins only to die stupidly or get run over by a jeep and have to do more driving. i don't like having to find the stupid diamonds, even tho i can now find them easily after working out that when the greeen light starts flashing simply stand still rotate character untill green light stops and you know its right in front of you. didn't know this before, still a pain in the arse.
i really love the smooth graphics, heard peps saying bout screen tearing but i have noticed nothing. such a beatifull world, just love the great outdoors and feel so at home in the game world. i like the fact the bad guys respawn coz if they didn't it would just be an empty world. really love setting fire to shit aswell and watching everything burn, including the bad guys. love sneaking up to a camp and sniping the shit of em and watch em run and hide in a panic. i do think far cry 2 could have been so much better, but as it is it's still a very fun game. gonna wait till far cry 3 goes down to bout £20 then i'm gonna jump on that. looks just as good as 2 but with a lot more fun going on.

dunno if this is lame or what, but in the last year i have begun to love me some buck hunter. there's a bar down the street from my work that has it, so me and a bunch of friends go up there to chill after a day's work and play a game or two every once in a while.
