i like the new loefah, but where is the progression? it seems like this could be an unreleased loefah dub from back in the day.

He hasn't been producing since then lol. You can't give up producing for years, come back to it and expect some mad progression. I see nothing wrong with him producing stuff that sounds like it could be an unreleased Loefah dub, old Loefah dubs are the most sought after tunes.

i doubt loe's been listening to nothing but classic dubstep since he stopped producing. swamp 81 is makes that apparent. saying he hasn't been influenced by newer music/different styles since then kind of nulls your argument. i'm just surprised i hear a reverbed jamaican phrase repeated just like he has done before. like i said, i still like it, but after all this time, i figured he'd be doing different stuff.

I'd rather Loefah do what he does though, rather than just start making shite tech house

idk why people paint swamp as tech house, have you ever listened to actual tech house? yeah the artists draw from house and techno to a certain extent, but they're all definitely doing their own thing

When did I say thats all hes listening to and hasn't been influenced by newer music? My point was he produced music a certain way, you can't be surprised that hes making music in a similar kind of way considering he stopped, its not like he went away and spent years developing a new way and style of producing. If you think this tune is exactly like his old stuff and hasn't taken influence from the music he pushes on swamp ect. you're completely wrong. For starters its much slower than 140 and just look at the set its played in, fits perfectly among those songs. He got bored of the dubstep scene, its not to say he was bored of his own style and sound. Taking his sub heavy, atmospheric, loads of space (and always top samples) to a new scene isn't all that surprising. I for one am glad hes stuck with his old style, it worked so well in dubstep it can work with what hes doing now.

Also this is one of the first of his tunes to get played, you can't expect something too experimental. Think hes playing it safe and sticking to what he knows.. and its paid off imo.

its mainly tech house though m8

Dusky = tech house
Paleman = tech house
Joy O = tech house

Im more on about what he is playing now, not what he is releasing. Yeah its not like normal tech house, but its this whole bass thing influenced tech house.

Made me LOL. I agree it does sound influenced by swamp stuff, saying he is influenced by it because its slower than 140 is not a way to support your argument. You dont need no influence to just slow down a tempo lol.

alright yeah I wouldn't really disagree with that all that much if you're talking about some of the tunes he plays, I was thinking more along the lines of what's actually out in the swamp catalog

Did you stop reading at the numbers 140? There was a whole sentence there. I meant not only has he just slowed it down but hes made it fit perfectly into a set like the Klose One set.. a set with Swamp type material. Pointing out it isn't just an old Loefah tune slowed down.

Maybe I worded it wrong lol.

I agree with you Muncey, I think it's more than just a loefah tune at ~126. Feels like it was specifically made to fit into the context of what he's been doing lately, but without actually trying to be a "swamp" tune

that's not to say it doesn't share a LOT of elements with his old stuff, but I'm certainly not complaining about that
