It's fun and a good introduction to roguelikes.

Tales of Maj'Eyal (ToME)

Played it for a bit, seems really fun :D Think you might like it if you don't already have it (It's free too) :)

Oh yea I've played ToME, actually working on my own RL currently.

I could recommend RLs all day long, but if you want to play a good coffeebreak one with some interesting mechanics check out The Slimy Lichmummy

That's awesome :corndance: Would be interested in seeing how development goes, would be cool to see how you program the dungeon generating algorithms and other things. Mind PM'ing me about it? :)

Sure, once I get a bit further along I'll be starting up a devlog on TIGSource documenting the process and progress.
As far as dungeon generation, quick notes from my design documents (not actual code and in my own quick readable format to transition to actual code quicker, but maybe readable it's like this)

Code: Select all

- Generate number of rooms
	- Random int value

- Subdivide number of rooms into large, medium, small
	- Generate random int value
		- If total room number > random int value
			- Total room number / random int value = room number
			- Random int 1-3 for large, medium, small
			- Large, medium, small + room number = new value
			- Total room number - room number = total room number
		- Else
			- Random int 1-3 for large, medium, small
			- Large, medium, small + total room number = new value

- Generate central hub room

- If total room number > 0
	- Generate hallway
		- Condition for hallway (empty space adjacent, walls on at least 2 other sides)
			- Random int length
			- Random int direction
			- Go to end of length in direction, check that walls on at least 3 sides
				- If walls on 0, 1, 2 sides, recurse generate hallway
				- If walls on 3 sides place then recurse generate hallway
				- If walls on 4 sides place
					- Place random room type at end of hallways while verifying enough rooms left of said type
					- Subtract 1 of room type from corresponding value
					- Recurse

I play D&D, Pathfinder, Call of Cthulhu and a few other pen and paper and tabletop games.
Now if you're referring to D&D Online that's a whole other beast. That and there are a ton of D&D video games.

it's a total conversion mod, so yes. Runic hasn't officially made it so you can enable disable mods in game atm. easy enough in file format though.
