Re: Drumstep / DnB / Dubstep using old basketball samples
Love the idea, but the execution just wasn't there. Some notes sound out of time or too off-beat, and even in the percussion, which makes it worse. That main synth could use some work too, both on it's melody (repetitive) and it's mixing (poor reverb, too much noise). Keep up the work though, you'll get the hang of it! Cheers man.

Thanks for giving it a listen, even though your not a fan. Not sure how you mean the percussion, the hats? THeres a mix of drunm breaks and my drums over the top, maybe where its got mangled, also tried backing up the kicks in the breaks for more punch, hasn't really worked. Theres a cringe worthy section in the last 30seconds i need to sort out!, What do you think i should do with the bass synth? chop some top end off it and make it more of a mid range/bass? as its not really a proper bassline at the moment. First attempt at drumstep 175bpm, pretty much. Think i might just chop it down to 2.30 as Iv been messing with it for a week (on and off) and gets to a stage when you lose interest.phonomancer wrote:Love the idea, but the execution just wasn't there.
