Since “Goblin” I've tried to do something that's a bit more mental, that makes musical sense but doesn't at the same time. Like, 2008, I thought, I don't want to make something that's so catchy that people can hum it!

Re: Major Coki interview
Very interested in this, Coki's always been one of my favourite dubstep producers but there aren't very many interviews with him around, usually Mala or Loefah take most of the interview spotlight (not that that's a problem, they've both got a lot of interesting things to say, but would be good to know what makes Coki tick!).

Re: Major Coki interview
There was one interview with him before a gig abroad somewhere.. I can't find it though. It was mostly him rolling or smoking and the others going YOU SOO COOL while Doctor P was playing on stage which was ridiculously loud in the room they was in. Silly place to have an interview.150Grams wrote:Been looking for a Coki interview, haven't found one.DeniedExistence wrote:Very interested in this, Coki's always been one of my favourite dubstep producers but there aren't very many interviews with him around, usually Mala or Loefah take most of the interview spotlight (not that that's a problem, they've both got a lot of interesting things to say, but would be good to know what makes Coki tick!).

Re: Major Coki interview
Yeah there was an interview floating around on Youtube a while back of him at a night in a different country (maybe Russia? I can't remember), it wasn't brilliant though the interviewer was pretty crap (to be fair English definitely wasn't his first language, but still) and like the post above me said half of Coki's answers were drowned out by the noise of the set that was being played during it. I remember there being something about Coki saying he wasn't gonna drink any vodka before he played cos otherwise he'd be found later running down the street shouting "DUBSTEP" lol which was amusing but didn't really offer much insight. The bit of this interview that's been posted sounds like it could be a lot more interesting.

Haha I remember that now, I think he said something about a session with him and Pokes on vodka and he ended up running through London shouting dubstep. He also said something about smoking weed.. DONT DO COCAINE, just smoke weed!DeniedExistence wrote:I remember there being something about Coki saying he wasn't gonna drink any vodka before he played cos otherwise he'd be found later running down the street shouting "DUBSTEP" lol which was amusing but didn't really offer much insight. Most definitely one of my favorite artists. I like how he explains that he makes tunes you cant sing. Try describing or humming "On Board."

Great interview, big up Joe and Coki! Was hoping for a little more info about his label, I assume there isn't a lot to say atm.
