I remember I heard this tune on the NG Audio Portal years ago, and it got me hooked on electronic music for good - granted, I spent the night downloading cheesy trancey DnB tunes from the Portal.

This is probably the first ever dubstep tune I heard - http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/292629

And like any 13yr old kid who just discovered EDM, guess what my next favourite artist was?

I still listen to this tune every now and again, just because the FM synthesis shit just makes me cry manly tears.

This is probably my favourite tune from my late childhood, though:

I really wasn't introduced to the rootsy deep stuff (or anything remotely underground) until about a year later.

That's when I hit my dubstep elitist age :V

Katy B on a mission was my first dubstep tune...goes down well at parties, still.

Actually, it was Eastern Jam with Snoop Dogg rapping on top, but I never got into dubstep from that.

I can't decide if this is a guilty pleasure or just a straight up banger. The 'i beat mother fucker' makes it a bit cheesey and bro-ish.. but big tune nevertheless.

Emalkay used to make some really massive stuff back in the day on Boka Records. not anymore though, too bad.

I think as his nipples started to chafe more and more the worse his tunes became.
