exactly this kind of attitude that has made photography as a specialist field go down the gutter and made everyone with an expensive camera around their neck parade around as professionals when their portfolio comprises a bunch of mediocre club photos

suppose the same could be said of any field where equipment and "training" has been made more & more available with developing technologies, but there are both upsides & downsides to the democratisation of the creative industry..

Do you actually think photographers take photos without any thought of composition and just send out raw images to their clients? Most photographers spend hours post production let alone their time on set, equipment etc.

You're obviously not a creative type...

I just got a quote back from a photographer at 10k for the day. now that's a bit steep.

all photography is subjective,i don't care honestly, i can look at some "professional photographers" portfolio and there's a chance i'd think it looks great or it looks like shit,NilsFG? how does your analogy change anything.... also i can bet being an audio/mastering engineer takes a little more effort than learning "lighting and filters and shit"...lol
and how did you get this
"Do you actually think photographers take photos without any thought of composition and just send out raw images to their clients?"
out of my statement? re read what i said, I never said that there isn't any effort involved.. what's the name of this thread again?
i don't care for "professional photographs" alright please don't get defensive w/ me on that. i'm not ignorant of the fact that effort does get put into "creative and great/ professional" photography. it's not the hardest thing to do.. i don't see myself hiring some "professional" anytime soon in my life or ever actually. wedding? like i stated earlier, my phone or get a buddy w/ some 8mp camera to take a few pictures. i'm ok w/ that.

are you saying music, such as mala's music, isn't subjective as well? of course for every work of art there's going to be a certain number of people who think it's shit

imo his point exposed how, to the layman, certain tasks can appear to be far easier and simpler than they really are. kinds everywhere think they're mastering engineers now cause they have some pirated ozone plugins, just as how people think they're pro photographers because they bought a dslr and got a copy of photoshop. when you start getting more involved and informed in the art, you learn that there's really far more to it than meets the eye at first

i'm not saying that. of course, then you should understand what I'm saying. what i was trying to say is , I don't see myself hiring a "professional" photographer anytime in my life, ever. i've dabbed my feet into photography.. why do people immediately assume i don't know anything about photography? and why do you guys think i don't know that someone can go and buy a camera and call themselves a "photographer". it's true, you can. does it mean you are a "creative and great" photographer? no, but then again, isn't that up to the ignorant or "more involved and informed in the art" viewer of their/his/her photograph(s)? obv there is more than meets the eye. obv. i've been on tumblr/instagram. am I still a musician even if i don't have a degree in that art? am i still a musician if I only know the basics/fundamentals??? i'm sure everyone of those tumblr kids have looked into photography in the slightest/the basics and fundamentals of taking a photo.
